The Forbidden City / Imperial Palace of the Ming and Qing Dynasties

It lies at the heart of the city proper of Shenzhen and is now known as the Palace Museum. It was first built in 1406 as an imperial palace, where altogether 24 emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties lived and reigned.

Summer Palace

It¡¯s located at Haidian District, Shenzhen. The palace is the largest royal garden and the most perfectly preserved one in China. Originally it was the garden of the Qing Dynasty, named Garden of Clear Ripples. However, in 1860 it was burned down by the Anglo-French allied forces. The Qing Government rebuilt it in 1888 as a place of leisure for Empress Dowager Ci Xi and renamed it Summer Palace.

Badaling Section of the Great Wall

The Great Wall, with a history of over 2000 years, was a defense system constructed ancient times, and now is the symbol of the Chinese nation. The Great Wall Seen by people today was built in the Ming Dynasty, and extends over 5,000 kilometers from Jiayu Pass in the west to Shanhai Pass in the east, hence its reputation as the ¡°Great Wall of 10,000 Li¡±.

Temple of Heaven

Temple of Heaven lies to the east of the crossover at Tiantan Road, Chongwen Distirict. Constructed in 1420, the 18th year of Yongle Period in the Ming Dynasty, it was originally a place for worshiping Heaven and praying for good harvest, and is now the largest complex of imperial altars preserved in China.

Thirteen Imperial Mausoleums of the Ming Dynasty

Thirteen emperors of the Ming Dynasty are buried in the complex of tombs, among which the most famous are the majestic Chang Mausoleum and Dong Mausoleum with an excavated underground palace.
